“Well, I couldn’t just leave you there.” Caffeine. That was what he needed. Sam had already started on one soda, but he was more than willing to drink the entire 12-pack if it kept him awake, just for a little longer. “You needed help.” And it’s not like we were friends once or anything… But Castiel didn’t remember that. Again.
Sam cleared his throat. “Look, I know that we’ve just met and all, but since you don’t remember anything…well, if you want to stay with me until you do, then I don’t mind.” Part of him still wasn’t sure if this was a good idea, but he’d be damned if he was going to let Castiel wander off on his own to get hurt or worse. “I’m going to be doing a lot of travelling, though. I hope that’s okay.” Oh, and I’m insane. You’re cool with that, right?
More things he wouldn’t be saying out loud.
He nodded thoughtfully, starting on the second half of his sandwich as Sam spoke. “I would very much like to do with, Sam. I would not mind the travel, as long as you don’t mind the… very unpredictable nature of a man who may have attempted suicide and has lost his memory.”
He stated it rather calmly, but that was what he had put together. He had nothing with him except those few items, neither of which seemed to have a true functional purpose. Their presence was a very deliberate one, and thus his own presence at the lake. That troubled him a little.
